This morning I was reading an article about newbie racing and it mentioned something about what to do with all of those race bibs and race T-shirts that are piling up. Hum… I haven’t noticed the pile yet. I do have a
tiny modest collection that sits on top of the refrigerator with coupons that I forgot about have expired in a basket (they probably expired because they were tucked away *safely* in that basket).
The article mentioned having a bag made out of them. It mentioned a place where you can send them your race bibs and for a
hefty fee, they will make it for you. I found the site incredibly hard to navigate (cursive fonts in ALL CAPS are as useful to me as Chinese). After a bit more research, I found these instructions (the photo is courtesy of her site, too– thanks!) for making one yourself. :)
My inner craft-goddess twirled around in delight shouting, “I can make one, too!!!!” My inner runner goddesshopped around screaming, “I have race bibs!!!!” My inner voice of reality dropped her head and reminded all of us, “Hold off on that trip to the craft store… We don’t have quite enough bibs… Unless you’re just making a change purse.”
So if the satisfaction of finishing a race just isn’t enough… There is always the lure of a craft project around the corner.
I’m off to look for races now!
A note about the author: although multiple personalities may be eluded to in the post above, the author is
perfectly mostly sane.
